Kuwahara KZ-1 (1980/81)

Kuwahara KZ-1 . . . This was built in December of 1980 according to the serial number, so not sure if they list it as a 1980 model OR a 1981 model . . . This started life as a Candy Red Color. It is now White with Blue Parts. The biggest cost for this build was the Frame & Fork. If you’ve ever looked for one you know they’re hard to find and expensive. This one was in Excellent Condition as shown in the Photos after the Media Blasting Process. The 3 Piece Cranks were also ordered in from Australia so that added a bit more expense as well.

2022 40th Anniversary Haro Master!
I swapped out a few parts to help this resemble Bob's bike a bit more but I kept all the original parts in there original packaging for the future owner! First I swapped out the Spoke Wheels for the Legendary Skyway Graphite Mags! The original wheels are safely stored for the future owner. I also swapped out the Seat & Seat Post for a Blue Seat which is what you'll see in most of the 80's photos of Bob's bike. Again the stock seat & post were never unwrapped or installed. I also ordered some Blue over Green AME Unitron Grips which will match the bike much better than the Red/Yellow Oakley's. (Not installed during the photo shoot) The last little detail is the Blue Headset Spacer. These were shown on the YouTube video but never made it into production. I ordered a complete Haro Headset just to get the spacer and I believe it looks better as it matches the Blue Seat Post Clamp! All of the original parts will be included in the sale. . . I kept ALL of the original packing material and took good photos of where everything goes in the event it does sell someday. Skyway T/A-20 – Candy Chrome Red – Blue Mags (2022)
This build is based off of the Candy Chrome Red Skyway Frames that Planet BMX released. These are very hard Frames to get!! We then installed some really Trick Parts on it including Redline Flight Cranks, Blue Skyway Tuff Wheels and Bear Trap Pedals.

This bike currently features Spoked Wheels however I also have a set of the 60th Anniversary Skyway Graphite Tuff Wheels set aside for it along with a pair of Bullseye / Skyway Pedals. (Both of these are options) It also features a very rare set of 50th Anniversary "Redline by Kastan" Flight Cranks, Sprocket and Techmatic Bottom Bracket Set.
